Ankle pain: first of all, you should see a qualified podiatrist / foot and ankle specialist to be reevaluated. There are three main ligaments around the outside of the ankle. A tear or sprain of any of these ligaments can take up to 6 to 8 weeks to totally heal. If there still is pain after two months , there is a possibility that there is a fractured fragment inside the ankle joint causing pain. Need MRI
