Two main types: There are two main types of surgery for zenker's diverticulum. 1. Is transoral endoscopic stapling. This is often first line therapy, and is especially usefull in small diverticulum. 2. For large diverticulum or failed endoscopic stapling, then a myotomy and diverticulectomy performed through the left neck is effective and well tolerated.
