Depends upon surgery: Distal urethral diverticulum can be surgically corrected by a simple cut-back or marsulialization. Diverticulum higher up usually corrected by transvaginal surgery. Best to ask urologist or uro-gynecologist performing the surgery, but either way recovery should be about 2 - 3 days. Good luck.
