Pain post filling: The pain that is still present six weeks after filling could be either from a high filling or if the cavity was deep and close to the nerve of the tooth. You should go back to your dentist for a evaluation soon. It should bot hurt if everything is ok.

Not really: 6 weeks is a long time. See your dentist to make sure filling isn't over contoured. May also be sensitive "nerve" if cavity was large. Could be need for root canal rx. Your dentist will know.

Better or worse: Generally it should be getting better - is the pain the same as it was or is it improving? If it is worse or the same-see you dentist again.

Call dentist: Call your dentist or get another opinion. The severity and duration of pain are a big consideration though. Also what causes the pain- temperature, biting, etc.

No: No. Pain means there is a problem. Could be a number of reasons. You may have "pulpitis" which occurs if nerve is dying. May need a root canal. Go back to dentist who did filling.
