Episodic Pain: Today you feel better, tomorrow the pain may be unbearable. Don't diagnose yourself, unless of course you have experience in such matters... Btw, you're probably correct. Why are you waiting for care? Make the call asap to avoid an emergency situation.

See a dentist: Teeth that need root canals sometimes goes through cycles of intense pain for several days, then several days of lesser almost absent pain. Don't be fooled by the painless days. The abscess is still there lurking and will be ready to pounce when it's the most inconvenient time for you. Please see a dentist and get this tooth treated.
