Not likely.: Teeth sometimes are sensitive after a dental cleaning if the "stuff" that was removed was covering sensitive areas which are now exposed after removal. A Fluoride application often helps.

Cleaning: Not necessarily. You might have had more tarter this time. If a hygienist did a thorough cleaning of your mouth you should expect some soreness for a day. People who form no tarter have the more mild type cleanings.
