25% worth saving: Do you mean 25% relative function with opposite kidney performing 75% or is right kidney functioning at 25% of its' expected capacity? Below 10 - 12%, in presence of severe hydroneprosis is probably not worth saving. Ur young, thus my advice would be for you would likely be to undergo a laparoscopic or robot assisted pyeloplasty if hydronphrosis due to ureteropelvic junction obstruction.
