I am 38 weeks pregnant. at around 33-34 weeks my dr told me my iron was a bit low. he told me to take some iron pills but i did not. should i be worry?

Should take it: Most likely you will be ok..But giving birth either vaginally or via c-section you will endure some blood loss. So, if your iron is low, it will take longer for you to recover....

Get prenatal check: Its never too late too start iron/vitamins.... It will help recovery after delivery of your baby. At your prenatal checkup, your blood level can be checked to see the hemoglobin level. If really low you may receive blood transfusions or rarely IV iron after delivery.
