A member asked:

3 week post arthroscopy mri demonstrates full thickness cartilage defects. how does this happen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cartilage Repair: Cartilage may take several months to repair so it is not surprising to note lack of cartilage after arthroscopy, usually scraping and cleaning of the torn and injured fibrinous material is performed. It is up to the physiology of your body to repair after this "clean-out".
