Nerve blocks: If the pattern of the pain can be isolated to a specific nerve distribution then an injection blocking the nerve can be both diagnostic and therapeutic. There are meds that can also help with nerve pain. Seek out a pain management specialist since your scans are normal. All this means is that there is not necessarily anything fixable or that may improve with surgery.

Trigeminal Neuralgia: I would look into asking a specialist about the possibility of having trigeminal neuralgia or more commonly referred to as tic douloureux. It is a chronic pain condition that affects the trigeminal nerve, one of the largest nerves in the head. The disorder causes extreme, sporadic, sudden burning or shock-like face pain that lasts anywhere from few secs to 2 mins. It can mimic pain in teeth.
