Small amounts ok: In the recovery phase you must weigh yourself daily, and if weight increases than , skip breakfast and lunch, drink plenty of water; eat huge steak with an apple and raw tomato for dinner.

HCG and sugar: Technically, if you follow dr. Simeon's protocol, no sugar is allowed during the first 3 weeks of the 6 week maintenance phase that follows your HCG diet cycle (26 or 40 day cycle). Small amounts of fructose from fruits is probably ok, but why not wait another 3 weeks since you already tortured yourself for 26 to 40 days while on the cycle. Most people's appetite and cravings are down anyway.
