Depends: If you are having severe pain, the cysts probably need to be removed. If your symptoms are mild, it may be reasonable to manage with observation and recheck the sonogram in 4 to 6 weeks. An ovarian cyst up to 8 centimeters in diameter is considered in the normal range and if it is related to ovulation (most are) it will usually go away on its own.

It depends: on how large the cysts are, your symptoms, and the features of the cysts on ultrasound. The vast majority of the time nothing needs to be done. Sometimes follow up ultrasound is indicated to assess for progression or resolution. If they are very large, if they have suspicious features, or if your clinical picture warrants it, they can be removed.
