Yes it is common: Varicose veins on the vulva are common .They are often not talked about because of embarrassment . They can be related to varicose veins on the legs and pelvis so an ultrasound evaluation is needed . I have had success with injecting the labial veins if no pelvic vein problem are found others need the pelvic veins treated. Don't let embarrassment prevent treatment.

Yes on Vulvar Veins: Varicose veins do rather commonly form in the vulvar and labial region and are more common in women who are pregnant or have had prior pregnancies. They tend to form when some of the pelvic veins develop diseased vein valves. It is a treatable condition, most commonly treated through sclerotherapy or sometimes ovarian vein embolization procedures when pelvic congestion syndrome is present.

Vaginal veins.: Vaginal veins can occur and they can be due to several reasons including reflux from braches of the great saphenous vein, pelvic congestion syndrome and ovarian vein reflux. Pregnancies are a common cause of vaginal veins. These veins can treated usually by foam sclerotherapy with a high success rate. Often times the source of the veins will also need to be treated. See a vein specialist.
