YES!: 70% of bad breath comes from the tongue, so make sure you use a separate soft brush from the one for your teeth. Flossing gets rid of the decaying stuff between your teeth. Breath rx mouthwash twice daily after brushing is great. It can also be caused by dehydration; make sure to be drinking mostly water during the day (coffee dehydrates). Chewing sugar free gum after/between meals is good too.

Halitosis: You must see your dentist and GI doctors to rule out organic causes. Meaning no gum disease, caries, GI problems. Otherwise, try smartmouth rinse or closys ii mouwash, they work quite well and brush your tongue.

Oral hygiene: You don't need a stronger toothpaste or mouthwash. You need to work with your dentist, mechanically remove bacteria from your mouth by brushing, flossing and cleaning your tongue with a tongue scraper or brush. Xylitol gum or mints will help remove some bacteria.

Halitosis: Halitosis can be from many causes, both of medical and dental origin. It is often caused by a combination of factors. If you want to get rid of the halitosis, you must first identify the cause(s). By far, poor oral hygiene is the #1 cause. First, go to http://smilesapartcosmeticdentist.Com/fresh-breath-control.Htm for more info. Then see your own dentist who can help you resolve this issue.
