Peds nutrition: Prior to weaning there is no issue. Childrens food products with a decent variety will supply the needs and your child is efficient at extracting what is needed. Supplements are rarely needed. Ask your pediatrician if you have concerns about what you are doing and what is available to you. Nutritional deprivation in the US is extremely rare and found mostly in those doing fad diets.

Growth chart: The growth chart is one of the best ways to assess good nutrition. Your child should be growing in length and weight and it should be measured regularly by the pediatrician and plotted on a chart. If there is a problem in growth, a further and closer exam of nutrition can be undertaken. You can also discuss any dietary concerns you have with your doctor at the next visit.
