Go to a dentist: Because of our limitations in this forum, it is difficult if not impossible to diagnose many situations. Without having you in the dental chair for a complete exam and x-rays to determine; is it your jaw or the tooth or both? That being said, do your research and find a dentist who fits your needs. A great dentist who understands occlusion and is a great diagnostician is invaluable.

TMJ: When you injure the jaw joint which has a capsule with fluid and nerves and blood supply, you will have swelling and pain which is normal. Best treatment is soft foods and a mouthguard. If swelling continues after a week i would call your dentist for an exam.
