Throat: Pharyngitis (throat infection) often causes pain referred to the ear. The ear itself is rarely involved in adults. Treat with anti inflammatory medicine as usual.

Could be either: You are descibing an enlarged lymph node. This lymphnode can be enlarged with either an infection in throat or ear. You might want to see your physician. Best wishes.
