How long ?: A day? A week? A month? A year? You did not say. Call the dentist who completed the root canal therapy, since there may still be inflammation at the tip of the root.

Yes...: I would discuss this with your dentist. There are ways this can be managed with either antibiotics or non-steroidals. Perhaps the bite needs to be adjusted. Perhaps the tooth simply needs more time to heal. Your dentist can assist in determining what is the best course of action.
