Re-evaluation: Your dentist needs to re-evaluate the tooth. Give them a call. Take otc pain meds in the meantime.

Be patient 7-10 days: During the root canal therapy a lot of collateral tissue (gums, nerves, muscles) damage is done. The pain is a symptom of the affected tissue inflammation. Over the counter medications (Aleeve, Tylenol) for a few days will ameliorate the pain. If concerned? Call your dentist for post-op exploration.
