Fixing depression: I agree with dr. Lambe's initial suggestions that you can do on your own. However, more severe symptoms (especially changes in sleep, appetite, energy, plus suicidal thinking) mean you really need to see your doctor for general health check up because some medical problems can present as depression. Full evaluation with a psychiatrist and/or psychologist for best treatment, would be next step.
