Extent of Fracture: Is the question. If it is a front tooth and you have a great occlusion, it should hold well depending on the extent of damage. There are good materials now with higher tensile strength, density, ..Comparable to the natural tooth but porcelain crown is stronger than enamel.

Yes but...: I do not see that option being long-lasting. It is very difficult to make durable repairs on a crown. In general remaking the crown is best.
