Not at all: Gold is still used today for many restorations. It has a terrific adaptation to your tooth, will not crack, and you never have to worry about porcelain breaking. With all these positive attributes, why would you consider a gold restoration unprofessional?

Gold Crowns: Gold crowns are the most durable restorations dentist can produce and they wear much like enamel! my grandfather passed away with 12 gold crowns in his mouth that were 40 years old or older! however, most patients demand tooth colored restorations, even though they know they don' t last as long!
