Not always: There is a type of full denture called an overdenture. This fits over roots of teeth that have been left in to maintain the height of bone. Those teeth would need to have root canal therapy. Nowadays, implants tend to make this prosthesis obsolete.

Depends: Depending upon the condition of your teeth they can sometimes be repaired and utilized to help stabilize your denture and preserve the supporting bone. You need to discuss these options with your dentist.

Dentures: Hi, as dentists, we always will try to save the patient's teeth. There are certain situations where your teeth will not be able to be saved: *severe periodontal disease: bone loss *rampant decay: tooth is decayed so much it is no longer fixable * small amount of remaining teeth: if only a few teeth are left, partial dentures do not fit / stay well in the mouth. Full dentures would be better.

Yes: A full denture replaces all missing teeth. A partial denture replaces some missing teeth. Get an evaluation for your situation. There are plenty of treatment options available. Good luck.

Usually: In some cases teeth can be left in if smoothed off at the gum line but this not usually the case. Usually all teeth are removed, unless the roots are kept for what is called an over denture. When roots are kept bone height is kept and the teeth may be used to retain the denture as well.
