A member asked:

How long does it take to heal after getting teeth pulled and a immediate denture put in.?

About 7-10 days: Tooth extraction sites usually within 7-10 days. The bone needed to support your immediate denture usually requires 6-8 weeks of healing prior to final denture fabrication. Dental implants can be a great option to hold the denture in place for a more secure fit.

4-6 weeks: Depending on how many teeth are removed, sufficient healing should occur within 4-6 weeks and be relatively pain free. A number of adjustments may be required during the healing phase. However, "normal" chewing function will likely never return to the level of a teenager with all their teeth. A good full denture will provide only 30-40% of natural tooth function.

Variable: Depends on the degree and complexity of surgery and your body's healing capabilities. Generally, the tissue heals in 2 -3 weeks.. The bone is usually stable enough after 6 months. At this stage, a reline can be done to refit the inside to your new tissue contours, or new dentures can be made.
