Soaking: In water mixed with a small amount of hydrogen peroxide is a good way to get a finger dressing off if stuck, most surgeons use a non stick gauze either vaseline i'm orientated or a yellow guaze called xeroform so the dressing isn't typically stuck.

Not really: The injections of local anesthesia will me more painful than the dressing removal.
