A member asked:

My father has hard nose bleed 3 tim since 40 days ago, he didn't has any precedent for nose bleed or blood pressure , he is 61 yr?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nose Bleeds: The nose has a lot of blood vessels and bleeding from the nose is quite common. People who take blood thinners such as aspirin, Coumadin (warfarin) or Plavix are at higher risk. An ENT doctor will look closely in the nostril to see if there is a blood vessel that needs to be cauterized or if there is something else causing the bleeding. It is helpful to keep the nose moist with saline spray and gel.
