White folds: The whitish color is usually a callous-like membrane from the tongue rubbing against the teeth. It often has a scalloped appearance that mimics the shape of the teeth.

White folds : "folds" on the sides of the tongue may come from the tongue placing pressure against the teeth because it is swollen or it is being forced against the teeth the white could be thickening of the tissue as a result of the rubbing against the teeth. It may be nothing, but i would have it looked at by your dentist to be sure.
