Please....: You should be seen by a dentist with tmd\tmj experience and training for a one on one evaluation and treatment, rather than relying on answers by dentists over the internet.

See a TM J/TMD Dr.: Sounds like you may be grinding/clenching or both. See a tmj/tmd specialist to determine the severity of the TMJ and also consider getting a custom mouthpiece.

TMJ dysfunction: Sounds like you have tmd, which is a dysfunction of the jaw joints. There are a lot of cause and effect issues here that contribute to the symptoms you describe. Your sensitive or painful teeth can be due to excessive muscle contractions at night while sleeping also known as bruxism (grinding). This clenching of the muscles causes strain on the tmj, teeth and creates headaches. See a TMJ dentist.

Get it investigated: A normal joint is painless, noiseless and has a full range of motion. Your joint does not sound normal and the pain is an indication you probably have an imbalance between your bite, joints and muscles. Check with you dentist to see if she/he can help you or refer you to someone who can.

TMJ: All could be associated with your TMD. See a TMD specialist. Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Most commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and orofacial pain specialists. Ask your MD, your dentist and your dental society for referrals.
