My mom has a bump in her mouth on her gum it's not that it is swollen it's just a lump what can it be?

Bump: Most likely an abscessed tooth especially if it is soft and she should see her dentist as soon as she can. If it is on the tongue side and it is hard it is most likely an overgrowth of bone and is not a problem.
