Numb all over?: Typical neurological problems have circumscribed areas which depend on where the problem is -- peripheral nerve, spinal cord, etc. Even in ms, the numbness does not usually involve the whole body, but more limited parts. In contrast, it's possible for emotional responses to manifest in physical symptoms, including total body neurological ones. Please work with your doctors -- they try to help!

Numbness: There are many reasons to feel numb. It could be a vitamin b and Folic Acid deficiency, a generalized polyneuropathy caused by diabetes, herpetic or other viral infection, or any other reason. The most important step is reaching accurate diagnosis, ruling out degenerative or nutritional diseases, infectious, or neurological damage. Psychiatric disorders (ptsd) could be a reason for such symptoms.

Some thots: Consider medication adverse reactions, a problem with peripheral nerves, even small fibre neuropathy. May get answer with EMG testing, even skin punch biopsy.
