A member asked:

What could "subtle nonspecific t2/flair hyperintensity in the parietal region bilaterally " indicate in a healthy 18 year old? no diagnosis made. scared of dementia/ms/etc.? could cause be psychiatric? (i have a history of gad/ocd/depression)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Such findings may be seen with smoking, prior head trauma, migraine, and perhaps MS. However if all that is noted is a non-specific and subtle presence, this in itself is NOT confirmatory of any condition. Psychiatric disorders do not show such patterns. Ask your doctor whether further testing is advised.
