Nerve impingement : Sounds like the electrical shooting pains are from nerve impingement. You may need to see a specialist to evaluate your neck, back, and hips. Hope this was helpful.

CONSIDER NECK: Anatomically, your description suggests a problem in your neck region or even the base of the skull. Seek out a local neurologist and investigate these very areas.
