Yes, it can happen: Depersonalization is the sense that things around you aren't real, or that you're observing yourself from outside your body. It can happen in high anxiety/panic, intoxication, some medical conditions, and can be triggered by stress or trauma. It can also happen schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, depression, and bipolar d/o, but isn't particularly diagnostic of any of these conditions.

No: They are more common in schizoaffective disorder than in bipolar disorder, but in my 28 years of practice i would say that in both disorders the symptom of depersonalization is not common unless there is also ptsd or panic disorder involved. I hope this info helps you.
