How can a doctor tell if depersonalization is anxiety related?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Assessment: Hi. Depersonalization disorder is thought to be largely caused by severe traumatic lifetime events including childhood abuse, accidents, war, torture, panic attacks and bad drug experiences. A doctor would need do a complete assessment and get a history to help with any depersonalization. It would certainly make sense that anxiety would be part of it. Best wishes to you.
