Hypothyroidism: Hypothyroidism can slow your thinking and energy down, and cause fatigue and lethargy. It can cause depression symptoms, but isn't the same as the mood disorder. It can be hard to process things mentally. Ongoing depression is worsened. Hypothyroidism needs treatment, generally with thyroid hormone in various forms; a depressed hypothyroid person may need both this and antidepressant therapy.
