Lipomas are not prob: If you can not stand up because of back pain , it is not lipomas. They are rarely that annoying or disabling. Need to look to possible occult fracture of the vertebrae or severe ligament damage. You need x-ray and possible MRI to find the correct cause. If your doctor is unresponsive, get another opinion and soon.

Lipomas : Are generally not painful, and, even when they are tender, only slightly so. Get another opinion if your doctor is not paying any attention to your problem.
