Much: In the 1970's, using the chemical ("metabolic") profiler for screening was "controversial." today it's cheap and is the usual way in which we pick up several common treatable diseases before symptoms occur -- the hepatitis family, alcoholic / lifestyle / medication-induced liver injury, wilson's, hemochromatosis, parathyroid disease, blood lipid problems. The key is interpreting it!
