A member asked:

What if dsm5 was right. asperger is closer to highly sensitive people (dr. aron) ( with comorbidities) than from hard core autists...as back for dsm6?

Probably not: ASD i my opinion refers to people who have neurologically based processing irregularities that are functionally impairing -next dsm will likely get to the genetic basis that leads to difficulty with digestion and access to necessary nutrients.

AS is now Autistic : Spectrum Disorder, usually Level 1, because a sensitive, quirky person with an IQ of 70 or above who does NOT have deficits in Theory of Mind, face recognition, joint attention + poor pragmatics & prosody causing atypical social communication + diminished eye contact & non-verbal skills decreasing social reciprocity + narrow, restricted, repetitive areas of interest does NOT have AS or ASD.
