It depends on the : Results of the mother's genetic testing -comparative genomic hybridization or genetic microarray & dna probe for fragile x. Ask your ob-gyn for pre-pregnancy genetic counseling with review of a 3- generation family history of both parents for medical & psychiatric illnesses & review of lab results. Have a flu vaccine & begin folate (folic acid) supplements 400 ?g/day at least 3 mos. Prior to conception.
