What is the difference between aspergers and autism in general?

They are both: On the spectrum of autism disorder. Aspergers in general is more high functioning. They are all very bright people.. Aspergers tend to excel academically and have social problems because they do not read emotional cues well at all. Autism usually has more severe developmental and language delays with diarrhea, constipation, self stemming, and eating issues. This is a broad and general description.
