Asperger's Syndrome,: No longer a diagnostic option, is now autistic spectrum disorder, usually level 1. The levels are based on functional abilities ; need for supports. A diminution or lack of theory of mind is a core deficit in all levels of asd; i.e., difficulty understanding that others can have a different point of view or belief than one's own.
