Cervical spine: The top spine surgeons will not make recommendations for treatment solely based on an mri. A thorough review of your symptoms as well a neurologic exam and possibly imaging should direct your care. Speak to your doctor to make sure that the pressure on the nerve has been removed. While pain mgmt has an important role, generally it does not treat structural issues in the spine. Excellent question!

Neck pain: The neck pain can be caused by muscle strain, spinal stenosis, ruptured disc, nerve impingement ... Since your pain persists after the surgery, i recommend you seeking help from a pain management doctor. You might benefit from a comprehensive evaluation and treatment.
