You can't be : Certain that a breast tumor is benign unless the entire thing is removed and sent for pathology examination. But if your doctor recommends no removal after all tests have been completed, i would follow his advice. Keep in mind though that every breast lump could be cancer.

It depends: Some benign lumps such as small fibroadenomas can be observed. Some benign lesions especially if associated with atypical changes need to be removed. Please consult a breast care provider.
