Not from you: If you were negative. He is positive. Most likely he has been positive for some time and it didn't come from you.

Define for something: If you were clear & he has "something", it is an odd statement to begin with. It sounds like he doesn't know what he has, or didn't become symptomatic until after contact with you. Up to a 3rd of men have no symptoms with chlamydia. and he could certainly bring it along from a prior exposure. Get tested again and suggest he do the same.
