IgM: IgM goes up first after an infection and IgG goes up later and stays up. The fact that your IgG is negative and IgM is positive indicates a recent infection. You and your husband should both be treated if you have not been treated already. Hope this helps.

Active infection: This suggests that you have an active infection. Regardless how you got it, you need treatment.
