Dr. Pamela Pappas answered

Specializes in Psychiatry

Mental health : You can talk with your own family doctor first, to check your overall health. For more definitive treatment, you can work with a psychiatrist and/or a psychologist or other psychotherapist. Some depression and anxiety needs medication to treat it effectively; psychotherapy is always important even when medication is used. Some psychiatrists provide both psychotherapy and medications as needed.

HELP: A psychiatrist who does psychotherapy shouold be able to help you, both with medication and sorting out the causes of the symptoms and with dealing with causes. Start looking. The sooner you start the faster you'll feel better.
