Avoiding something: If you are suffering from severe enough anxiety or depression to see your doctor and take medication, then there is good reason to see a psychologist for ongoing psychotherapy. Your doctor has given you good advice. "talking to someone here" is not a substitute for psychotherapy. It sounds to me like you are trying to avoid something. The relevant questions are what that is and why.
