Went to doctor iron so low recommended transfusion. opt out if that got iron pills but what if anything can i do?

Anemia: If very low and symptomatic anemia (low hgb), then may need a transfusion. If anemia from low iron (not the only cause of anemia), then the source of anemia needs to be determined. Low iron can be depleted by oral or intravenous iron. Oral iron is cheaper and easier as long as absorbed. Transfused blood also has iron.
