Milk baby?.: It is important to find out the reason for his anemia. At his age i would be concerned about his diet. It could be that he is drinking too much milk at the expense of things that are rich in iron. If this be the case talk to a nutritionist for a proper diet. There are, of course a myriad of other things that couldbethecause. Discuss the causes with your pediatrician.

Follow docs advice: If doc wants to see the level improve in 3 wks i assume he put your kid on iron & commented on the kids diet. The level is low but not dangerous & the most common reason for it being low is low iron from poor intake. If the level comes up on iron alone & diet changes you can avoid the scary nature of transfusions. If it's not up he will look into other reasons for the deficiency.
