Clonidine as an anti-hypertensive---is it an ace inhibitor, arb, beta blocker? what class of medication is it in for hbp?

Cental alpha agonist: Clonidine acts on the central Alpha receptors and lowers sympathetic tone which lowers heart rate and blood pressure. Clonidine is not a good long term medication due to numerous side effects and ideally has be used for short duration only.
